Trees crash through power cables in Warninglid and Shermanbury

Fallen trees crashed through power cables in Warninglid and Shermanbury yesterday (Monday October 28) during the storm.

Firefighters went to The Street, in Warninglid, at 10.30am where a large tree (50cm girth) was blocking the road and had gone through cables.

The area was cordoned off by a firefighter and UK Power Networks informed.

The Shermanbury incident was around 1.20pm on the A281.

The road was closed by police and power isolated.

The tree was removed from the cables by a tree surgeon, helped by emergency services.
