UPDATE: Elderly man in hospital after car in collision with lamp post in Horsham

Emergency services including Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) were called at about 12.15pm.

A spokesperson for SECAmb said: “A man thought to be in his 80s collapsed at the wheel.

“Two ambulances and a response car attended.

“The man was treated by ambulance staff before being taken to East Surrey Hospital for further treatment.”

Part of Albion Way was closed for several hours as police cordoned off the area around the incident.
