West Sussex County Council warns power in some parts of the county could not return until tomorrow (Wednesday October 30).

The local authority says it is ready to offer help and advice to vulnerable people who may still be suffering from a loss of power as a result of the storm that swept across the county on Monday.

A spokesperson said: “We are urging vulnerable people or residents who know of someone in their area affected by this to contact us on 01243 642104. Lines are open 8am to 6pm.

“It is believed that in some parts of West Sussex, power supplies may not be back to normal until tomorrow (Wednesday).”

Meanwhile motorists are being advised to approach the A24 Buck Barn Crossroads with caution after a traffic light failure.
