Elderly woman injured in Chichester collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was seriously injured in a collision in Chichester yesterday (Thursday August 9).

At 5.07pm a silver VW Polo left Broyle Road, Chichester, and collided with a tree.

The 79-year-old local woman, who was driving the Polo, received serious injuries as a result and was airlifted to Southampton Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “The road was closed for two hours following this collision. We would like to thank motorists who were inconvenienced while police investigated this incident for their patience and understanding.”
