A 52-year-old East Grinstead man has died following a collision with a blue Rover car on the A27, Arundel Road, Crossbush, in the early hours of this morning (Saturday October 27).
Police and emergency services were called to the collision on the west bound carriageway at 1.30am.
The pedestrian, who has not been formally identified, died from his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Rover, a 24-year-old man from East Sussex, was treated for shock.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a man walking along the A27 in the Crossbush area or a Rover 75 prior to the collision, to please contact them quoting Operation Parham.
The west bound carriageway was closed for about four hours whilst the casualty was attended to and officers from the Roads Policing Unit examined the scene.
