Driver taken to hospital after tree crash near Cowfold

A man was taken to hospital with a pelvic injury after his car was involved in a collision with a tree near Cowfold on Friday (September 19).

Three paramedic cars, an ambulance and a fire crew were called to the incident at the A272, west of Cowfold, just after 3.30pm.

The male driver, aged around 50, was helped from the car by witnesses to the collision.

He was suffering from pelvic pain but the injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

He was taken to Worthing Hospital.
