BREAKING NEWS: Man trapped under car freed by police

Emergency services including an air ambulance were called to Ashington after a car rolled off a ramp and onto a man this morning (Wednesday September 4).

The victim, believed to be in his 40s, was reportedly working on the underside of the car when the incident took place at around 10am.

Police, firefighters and paramedics attended the scene.

The Sussex Air Ambulance was also called but later stood down.

Police officers used freed the victim.

A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) said the vehicle had rolled off a ramp and trapped the man.

“He was fully conscious and wasn’t suffering from any obvious injuries, but was assessed and treated at the scene before he was taken to Worthing Hospital,” said the spokesperson.
