The signal-controlled crossing will be built on the proposed line of the Haywards Heath relief road on the east side of the London to Brighton railway line.

It will be built on a loop of road that will bypass a section of Rocky Lane, including the existing High Bridge.

A new bridge will be built across the line, although no start date has been announced.

The West Sussex County Council scheme can be inspected at Haywards Heath library or at www.westsussex.gov.uk/tro.

The website includes a response form for comments and objections.

Work has already started on preparing land on east side of Rocky Lane that will be used for housing and the new section of Rocky lane.

Traffic lights are in operation in Rocky Lane, and drivers are warned there are delays on the route.
