Thousands turn out for ploughing match and cattle show

A highly successful ploughing match and show, held in glorious weather was staged at Westons Farm, Itchingfield on Saturday by West Grinstead and District Ploughing and Agricultural Society.

Several thousand people, from babies of a few months to octogenarians, turned out to support the event which was held by kind permission of David Exwood and Christ's Hospital.

The competitive cattle show, with beef and dairy entries, were well supported by Young Persons Calf Handling classes, as well as sheep and young persons lamb handling sections.

Ploughing entries were outstanding, with 53 competitors taking part, and this section included a new classic class. Sadly there was no horse ploughing due to other events on the same day.
