Thousands in Horsham left without water as engineers continue to fix burst main

Household across the district have been left without water this morning following a burst main which Southern Water says '˜could have affected thousands'.

The water supplier said an 18-inch trunk main burst along Five Oaks Road in Slinfold earlier today.

The issue cut off water to homes in the village as well as many in Broadbridge Heath and scores in Horsham. Businesses have also been affected with the Pavilions in the Park being forced to close.

A spokesman added: “This initially could have affected the water supply to several thousand properties in the Horsham area, but this number is now dropping as we repair the leak and recharge the network.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused and we appreciate customers’ patience while we repair the leak.”
