With approximately 300 people taking part, the races were once again started by Jigsaw Patron and 96.4 Eagle Radio presenter, Kim Robson. The event raised more than £3,750.

In addition to the 10km race for more seasoned athletes, this year a Magic Mile Fun Run was introduced for the younger and less experienced runners. Fortunately, the predicted fog lifted in time for the start of the first race, ensuring perfect weather conditions. This, combined with a very flat course along the runway and perimeter road of Dunsfold Park, taking in the famous Top Gear track, made for a challenging but very enjoyable event.

The Jigsaw Trust, also based on Dunsfold Park, supports children and adults with an autism spectrum disorder and have been supported by local independent financial planners, Informed Choice for the last three years. Managing Director, Martin Bamford, said, “We were delighted to once again support the Jigsaw Run and help raise money for the Jigsaw Trust. The event this year was the best to date with a great atmosphere and lots of very happy runners achieving personal bests for the 10km distance. We look forward to being involved again next year, when we have no doubt the event will be even bigger and better than ever.”.

This year, Eagle Radio Trust also joined the organising and sponsorship team with their own charity also benefitting from the event. Trustee, Barrie Funnel was very pleased to be involved, saying, “We heard so many good things about the Jigsaw Run over the last couple of years that Eagle Radio Trust were very pleased to sponsor the event and provide a chip-timing system on the day.”.

The winners of the 10km race came in as follows:

Top three men

Mark Greet – 35:47 (NEW COURSE RECORD!)

Tom Foster – 35:57

Matthew Anstee-Brown – 36:24

Top three ladies

Caroline Pleasence – 39:49 (NEW COURSE RECORD!)

Joanne Locker – 40:24

Katie Way – 43:26

Jigsaw’s Fundraising Officer, Steven Morgan, was very pleased with how the day went, saying, “Once again we couldn’t be happier - the weather stayed fine, many of those taking part have beaten their own personal records and we have raised another huge amount of money. We are so grateful to everybody who took part in the event, their sponsors and the volunteers who gave up their Sunday morning to help ensure the Jigsaw Run was such a success.”.

Jigsaw Trust would like to thank Informed Choice, Eagle Radio Trust, Kim Robson, Dunsfold Park, Firebird Brewing, The Original Supper Box Co., The Richard Onslow, Cranleigh and District Lions Club, Sport Systems, Stuart March Photography, Get Fit Boot Camp and all the volunteers on the day.
