Making Theatre Gaining Skills, funded by the Department of Work and Pensions, was established in 2011.

The programme’s upcoming Worthing production has a nature theme and is aimed at schoolchildren up to the age of seven.

Hilary Strong, Making Theatre Gaining Skills director, said: “It’s practical and very purposeful. Our shows are produced to a very high level.”

Worthing job centre will select a group of people it feels will benefit from the programme. Those selected will then build the set for a theatrical production featuring local performers, which will then be toured around schools for a week.

From November 3 until November 21 the programme will be based in a community hall in Worthing.

Schools interested in signing up to the programme should contact Hilary on 01243 389951 or email [email protected]
