TAKE a tour of the Tamar lifeboat on Easter Saturday, and find out more about the work of Shoreham RNLI.
The Shoreham Harbour Lifeboat Society is holding an open day on March 30 and you can take a guided tour around the boathouse, on Kingston Beach.
Coxswain Steve Smith will also be showing visitors over the state-of-the-art Tamar lifeboat.
There will be an Easter egg hunt for the children (and those who are young at heart) and a visit from that well-known pirate, Cap’n Jack Sparrow, who is back from the Caribbean especially!
The open day will also include model lifeboat exhibitions, raffles, including a beautiful handmade cotton quilt, stalls selling all types of goodies and souvenirs, a bouncy castle, refreshments and much more.
Everything starts from 10am and goes on until 4pm, and there will be plenty of photo opportunities for keen photographers, so don’t forget a camera.
The society is the member of the Shoreham lifeboat “family” which raises funds towards the cost of equipping and training the crew and also the maintenance of the lifeboat station.
