Beeding and Bramber Preschool has received a £300 donation from Sussex Police.
A/Detective Sergeant Emma O’ Dwyer from Sussex Police presented the cheque to Chantael Brookshaw, supervisor at the Preschool.
Chantael said: “I would like to send our appreciation to Sussex Police for their donation and support.
“As a preschool we understand the importance of early intervention and offering support to children and their families.
“We hope to use this kind donation to provide various resources to encourage speech, language and communication skills.”
The donation comes from the Police Property Act Fund (PPAF), made up of monies received by the police from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold.
A/Detective Sergeant Emma O’ Dwyer said: “I am really happy to support early education within the community.
“It is wonderful to see the Police Property Act Fund supporting younger people as they embark on a lifetime of knowledge development.”
The preschool is a non-profit run charity established more than 50 years ago and is based in the Village Hall in Upper Beeding.
It is a committee run playgroup and belongs to the charity commission.
The preschool relies heavily on fundraising events and donations in order to buy new equipment and toys for the children.
Sussex Police presented the donation to the Beeding and Bramber Preschool in a special cheque presentation event, which took place on Friday, October 14.
