Over the bank holiday weekend, staff at Tesco Express in Storrington will be collecting money for three-year-old Maxwell Smith who suffers from Mitochondrial Disease, a muscle wasting condition.

The event will run from Friday (May 22) to Monday (May 25) and will also see two male staff members have their legs waxed.

There will also be a hand car wash and two staff members will be auctioning themselves off as a helper for the day.

Born a healthy baby, Maxwell was only nine months old when he contracted a bad case of tonsillitis and was admitted to the hospital in 2012.

After a series of treatments, he was diagnosed with the disease and is now unable to move his arms or legs and relies on a ventilator 24 hours a day.

Stop by Tesco Express in Pulborough Road, Storrington this bank holiday weekend and make a donation.
