Close behind was Oli Marks, 16, who put in ‘a lot of hours’ of revision to get eight A*s and four As.

He is now set to attend BHASVIC College, and already has his sights set on a career in medicine.

He said; “It feels amazing, I can’t believe it.

“I was expecting mostly A grades, and put a lot of hours of revision in, but I thought I would get a few Bs too.

“I’m very happy, it’s crazy.”
