The day will include free yoga taster sessions, special offers on winter soup at the café along with information on the centre’s ‘Steady On’ strength and balance course.

Donna Bailey, older people’s services manager at the Dingemans Centre, is encouraging members of the public to go along and find out more about the centre including the activities which are held there and designed for those over 55.

She said: “The Centre is a lively and inspiring place to be with activities designed to keep both minds and bodies active, as well as providing a café service offering freshly cooked meals on the premises.

The centre and café is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, with community based groups and minibus trips and is aimed at older people.

The event will also be supported by HDC’s Wellbeing Team, the Prevention Assessment Team, Community Safety Officers and the ‘Green Doctors’ who will be giving information and guidance.

Sue Rogers (Con, Steyning) HDC’s cabinet member for a safer and healthier district, said she was delighted that HDC and Impact Initiatives are able to bring so many companies together to offer support and help to local residents.

She added: “Winter can be a difficult time for many of us, but there are lots of organisations who can help make it safer, healthier and warmer.”
