He joined the Steyning Friends of Chestnut Tree House for their second Safari Supper, raising money for the children’s hospice.

A total of 100 diners enjoyed food at a total of four High Street restaurants, Chez Joel, the Cobblestone Teahouse, Sussex Produce Company and White Horse, last Tuesday.

Different courses were on offer at each, so the diners could go ‘on safari’ through the town centre.

‘Stewpot’ hosted two raffles following the dessert course, with Mrs Petra Billings winning the star prize of a top-of-the-range music system, donated by Bowers and Wilkins’ design and research section in Steyning.

Petra said she was delighted to have won and support Chestnut Tree House.

Organisers said the fun event was unique to Steyning and thanked diners for their support for the hospice in its 10th birthday year.

Music was provided for free by the Bud Whiteman Band.
