West Sussex County Council is testing out a range of new state-of-the-art equipment at the facility in Lower Tanbridge Way and is asking people what they think.

All libraries currently have standard PCs which customers can use for free.

But now a range of new devices and software, including an Apple iPad Air2, Microsoft Windows Surface Pro 3, Samsung Galaxy Tab S, and HP Chromebook are being piloted.

David Barling, WSCC’s cabinet member for residents’ services, said: “We know that technology has moved on so much in the last few years.

“The PCs in our libraries are really well used but the time has come to upgrade our equipment and we want to test out some more modern devices to see how they go down with customers.

“All the devices are currently in Horsham Library and we’re asking people to pop in and have a go. We’re simply asking for customers’ feedback which will help us make a decision about what to order for our other libraries.”

Horsham Library is open from 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays.

The equipment will be in the library until September.
