SNOW: Crawley Borough Council update - Sunday, January 20

Snow Clearance: West Sussex County Council have been gritting roads across the county this weekend.

Bags of grit have been placed around Crawley for snow volunteers and our street maintenance staff to use to clear pavements where possible.

Icy conditions are forecast tonight, so please take care on pavements and side roads tomorrow.

And do feel free to help local volunteers clear pavements if you can.

Waste and Recycling: Collections in Pound Hill, Worth and Maidenbower were suspended on Friday due to the worsening weather. Around 75% were completed.

Here is a list of the roads that could not be completed

We had hoped to return to collect the rest on Monday, but the level of snowfall on today and forecast icy conditions tonight and tomorrow mean it is very unlikely we will be able to do this. Please keep your waste for next week’s collection.

If we are able to return any sooner than this we will let you know.

Weather depending, rubbish and recycling will be collected from Monday’s scheduled areas in Langley Green, Three Bridges, Northgate, Pound Hill North and Tinsley Green.
