SCHOOLCHILDREN at Chesswood Middle School have taken part in a ‘Goblin Car’ project.
Year six pupils at the Worthing school enjoyed a ‘Race Day’ on Wednesday, July 22.
Each class was given a goblin car kit and built it themselves with adult supervision.
The pupils created kit cars which they decorated in a variety of different styles - one was black with lightning bolts painted on, one had yellow and red stripes and one was blue with yellow flames on the side.
The children have also contacted local businesses to ask for sponship funds, in return from advertising on their cars.
There were also various stalls held on the day.
The Greenpower Goblin car is a kit car designed specifically for primary schools to use to introduce practical engineering to year five and six pupils.
The kit comes flat packed with step by step instructions, guiding the team through the build in an easy to understand manner.
In building it, children receive an introduction to the use of basic tools and electrical systems.
