Ryan’s busy sporting life pays off with top award

The busy sporting life of Ryan Box has earned the public spirited youngster a n award for his efforts.

Ryan, 15, received a Rotary Young Achiever Award from President Mrs Angela Veitch at Burgess Hill Rotary Club.

The club says that it decided to give Ryan the award in recognition for the outstanding contribution that he makes in promoting sport to the youth of the Burgess Hill area.

Ryan coaches boys in both cricket, and football,.

In his spare time he also referees at weekend matches for Mid Sussex Youth teams.

The area has a lot of extremely popular football teams for young people.

They play at venues such as Janes Lane recreation ground at Burgess Hill and Whitemans Green, Cuckfield.

Referees are constantly in demand for matches all over the country.

So Ryan’s role with the whistle means that many young footballers have a neutral official to control their matches.

All the efforts that Ryan makes might well lead to him achieving ing a personal ambition in the future.

Ryan, 15, hopes to follow a career in sport when he leaves Oakmeeds Community College at Burgess Hill.
