Runners celebrate successes in mighty marathon races

Brave runners from the Horsham district are celebrating marathon success this month.

Last Sunday’s (April 13) London Marathon followed the Brighton Marathon a week earlier.

Following a year of strenuous training, Julie Hill, pictured below, successfully completed the London Marathon in just over four and a half hours on a very hot and sunny day in the capital.

In doing so, Julie, who lives in Oakhill Road, Horsham, and works for Spofforths in North Street, raised more than £2,400 for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity.

Ashley Boniface, pictured below, ran the Brighton Marathon to raise money for Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice. He thanked customers of Southwater Co-op for their generous donations in the till charity boxes.

It was his third Brighton Marathon. He finished in 04:13:16 and raised more than £500.
