Rosie Morse, of Station Road, said: “The end of Station Road is a carpet of sandbags. It’s hideous and we shouldn’t have to live like this.”

“We are slowly recovering from the severe flooding in June, which left many properties and gardens damaged. Each time it now rains, we are in fear of a repercussion.”

In June, the road was left resembling a raging river, as its drainage system was overcome.

Julie Mayo was left with a flooded home and garden, which cost several thousand pounds to repair.

“I will never forget that day,” she said.

“Clearly, there are multiple agencies involved and concerted action is required from all of them.”
