Proposals may go to a public inquiry

A CONTROVERSIAL scheme for Goring seafront, considered to be an over-development by many residents, could eventually go to a public inquiry.

Although borough planners are supporting main elements of the mixed-use scheme featuring 117 residential units, a health centre and a yacht club with associated parking, road access and landscaping, objectors may ask for a public inquriy if it is eventually approved.

Goring Residents' Association has objected to the scheme saying the attitude should not be how many flats can be squeezed into the site but how it can used for an attractive development.
