FRENCH pianist Christophe Diès-Ksike will play a programme of mainly romantic music at St Mary’s House, Bramber, on Saturday.
Christophe is a brilliant young pianist who will reveal his special approach to the music of Chopin, Liszt and Satie.
Administrator Alan Durden said: “We follow him on what he describes as a ‘musical voyage’, continually oscillating between intimacy and tenderness on the one hand and the more vigorous display of splendour and virtuosity on the other.”
The recital will begin with Mozart’s Sonata in B Major and Fantasy in D Minor.
It also includes classic masterpieces by Chopin and Liszt, and pays homage to Erik Satie, whose popular Gymnopédies is included in the programme.
Christophe, who is also a composer, will play his own pieces, Hommage à Satie and Valse-tarantelle during the afternoon.
Christophe won honours in chamber music at the Ècole Normale Supérieure de Paris, was a prize-winner at the Meknès Young Pianists International Contest in 2011 and has given recitals at the prestigious Salle Gaveau and Salle Pleyel in Paris.
The concert starts at 3pm and tickets are £25, to include tea and cake in the interval.
