A positive play about family and friendship

Getting your child to tidy their room is never easy at the best of times but in Steven Lee’s charming stage adaptation of The Elephant Bridesmaid we learn that it can be surprisingly fun.

Based on a story from the best selling book ‘How The Koala Learnt To Hug and Other Australian Fairytales’ this heart warming family musical introduces us to Natascha, a sweet natured young witch looking for a pretty dress to wear for when she is bridesmaid at her auntie’s wedding.

However, in a room as messy as hers she’d be lucky to find the carpet let alone a dress.

Fortunately her father is on hand to help and using his magical storytelling powers he uses the bits and bobs lying about on Natascha’s floor to conjure up a fabulous jungle scene complete with wombats, owls, Emus, lorikeets and of course a beautiful Elephant who just happens to be looking for a bridesmaid’s dress too.

Presented by The People’s Theatre Company whose recent productions include How The Koala Learnt To Hug and There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly, The Elephant Bridesmaid has all the pace, wit, charm and show stopping songs you would expect from one of the county’s leading producers of family theatre.

With a positive message about friendship, family and the fun that can be found in everyday chores The Elephant Bridesmaid is a truly magical show in every sense of the word and is perfect entertainment for parents and children up to the age of 12.

The show starts at 2.30pm on Sunday, September 8.
