Police seek teenage cyclist involved in crash near Goodwood

Police are trying to track down a young cyclist who was involved in a collision with a car near the Goodwood Estate.

The cyclist, believed to be a teenage boy aged between 14 and 16, was in collision with a red Vauxhall Corsa saloon at about 6pm on Sunday, August 30, in the road that runs between New Barn Hill and the A285 at Halnaker, police said.

The cyclist did not appear to be injured but the car drove on without stopping, and was traced some miles away following information from a member of the public.

PC Ben Henwood said; “If you are that cyclist, we would like to talk to you, to ensure you are alright, and also to help establish exactly what happened.

“If anyone else has any information, we would like to hear from them too.

“Please contact us via collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call us on 101, in either case quoting serial 1164 of 30/08.”
