Police have made a new appeal for information following a fire in a flat in Crawley in November.
Firefighters were called to Wren Court shortly before 12.30am on Wednesday morning (November 27) and the fire was quickly extinguished.
It was not necessary to evacuate other flats in the block and nobody was injured. The fire is being treated as a potential arson after fire investigators confirmed that it had been deliberately ignited.
Detective constable Karen Young said: “The victim was thankfully not at home and extensive damage has been caused to the doorway.
“We are appealing for any witnesses to the arson or anyone who may have been seen hanging around in the days leading up to the fire.”
Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 or email firstname.lastname@example.org quoting serial 22 of 27/11. Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
