Police appeal for A24 crash witnesses

Three men suffered injuries in a two van crash on the A24 south of Hop Oast Roundabout, said Sussex Police.

A 57-year-old man, driver of a white Transit van, was airlifted to King’s College Hospital in London with serious head injuries after emergency services were called to the scene at 10.10am.

His passenger, a 55-year-old male was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The driver of the other van, a white Mercedes Sprinter, a 30-year-old was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

He had cuts to the side of his head, was fully conscious but put in a neck collar, said South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesperson.

Sergeant Steward Goodwin of the Sussex Road Policing Unit said: “The Transit van was stationary at the time of the collision and the Sprinter van collided with the rear of the Transit.”
