Poem of the weekThe Blame Culture
IN our country today it is quite true to say,
accidents and errors are from a bygone day.
They are not allowed in our modern life,
without someone being sued for causing strife.
We cannot trip, stumble or have a fall,
without having somebody pay for it all.
Why should accidents be a thing of the past,
when it’s human nature that is here to last.
For no errors to occur when decisions are made,
is like denying the existence of green in jade.
To penalise errors in all aspects of work,
is like treating a smile as though it were a smirk.
A world without accidents or errors,
is empty as a horror film without the terrors.
Why do we need to find a body to blame,
for some human actions in all but the name.
