Second swan found shot near Horsham
A second swan has been shot at Southwater Country Park.
Earlier today a cygnet was shot dead and its body left floating in the park’s lake.
A vet confirmed it had been shot in the head with a ball bearing from a rifle or catapult.
Now a second bird has been found shot and has been taken to The Swan Sanctuary at Shepperton for treatment.
Horsham District Council, which owns the park, said Sussex Police have been informed.
A spokesperson said: “If anyone has any information that could help the police with their enquiries please call them on 101 or go online to https://www.sussex.police.uk/reportcrime”
