Simon Potten said: “Following the recent Government announcement that Centre Assessed Grades are to be awarded to GCSE candidates, this has ensured that student progress and work ethic has been rightfully acknowledged.

“We are satisfied that this decision has meant the vast majority of Oakwood School GCSE students have gained the necessary qualifications to pursue their routes of further study.

It has been a very difficult situation for everyone, according to Simon.

He added: “We would like to praise the efforts of Oakwood School students in managing it so well.

“They have shown tremendous resilience and fortitude and we wish them every success in the next stages of their academic careers.

“I would also like to thank all staff for the detailed and dedicated work that went into the Centre assessed Grades (CAG) process, as well as the parents of these students for their continued support and loyalty.”
