Horsham District Council has responded after glass windows were smashed at two of its bus shelters over the weekend.
Shocked residents woke up to discover two broken shelters along Guildford Road on Sunday morning (September 29).
Police said they received a call just after just after 9.30pm the previous evening stating a stop in the Bishopric had been damaged.
Photos have also been shared of another shelter close to Hills Farm Cemetery with smashed glass strewn all over the pavement.
Officers said it was not clear how the glass had been shattered.
The council took responsibilty for the damage and crews were clearing up the mess at the stops this morning.
A spokesman said the shelters were managed by a separate company which had been informed of the damage.
They added: “This is a JCDecaux bus shelter – their incident management team have been informed by the Horsham District Council Property Services team. There will not be any costs to the council.”
