GP Alliance for Better Care has been working with NHS Primary Care Networks across Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill to deliver the jabs at Clair Hall, Haywards Heath.

The 25,000 total was achieved despite no vaccinations taking place at Clair Hall for a four-day period between February 21-25 because of a fluctuation in vaccine supplies.

A spokeswoman for the Alliance for Better Care said that staff had taken the opportunity to carry out a deep clean of the site before vaccinations were re-started.

A spokesperson for the Sussex NHS Covid-19 Vaccination Programme said: “There is no pause in the vaccination programme in Haywards Heath and eligible people continue to be invited to receive the vaccine as quickly as supplies allow.

“Vaccination supplies fluctuate from week to week and are used as quickly as possible, this means that not all vaccination services operate every day. “Vaccination services work together daily to smooth out fluctuations, match supply and demand, and share supplies from bulk deliveries so that all services can plan ahead and offer appointments accordingly.

“The NHS has already offered the vaccine to everyone in Haywards Health in the first four priority groups and remains on track to offer it to everyone in the first nine priority groups by mid-April, in line with the national target.

“Many eligible people, including all those over 60, can book their first appointment right now at www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination or by calling 119.”

Apart from the 25,000 jabs administered in Haywards Heath, another 10,000 people have now been vaccinated at Meridian Hall in East Grinstead.
