Pedestrian seriously injured in crash

A pedestrian suffered a serious head injury in an accident in Crawley just after 5.30pm on Tuesday January 5.

Police say the crash involved a Honda Jazz, travelling east in Ifield Avenue, and a 22-year-old Crawley man. He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

The car driver, a 35-year-old man from Crawley, was reported to be uninjured.

The road was closed for nearly three hours while an investigation was carried out and the car was recovered.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police by emailing [email protected] or calling 101, quoting Operation Dolwen.
