DAME Sarah Storey, Great Britain’s most decorated female paralympian, will be racing at Goodwood for the Biking Belles Grand Prix.
The road and track racing cyclist will host a masterclass event on the day, as well as racing with her team.
The annual UK cycling event, taking place on Sunday, August 30, from 7.30am onwards, is raising money for St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Chichester.
On the programme are a 12-mile Starter Belles route, 35-mile Hills Belles, 50-mile Flying Belles and 70-mile Biking Belles Challenge, and all sportives start with one lap of the prestigious Goodwood Motor Circuit.
Organiser Val Harper said: “The Starter sportive is an organised 12-mile ride in the surrounding area. This is an opportunity for ladies new to sportives to come along and join this organised and escorted ride.”
The elite national women’s racing, featuring Team Storey, will be at 10.15am, then from 1pm to 2pm, there is an open cycle for women aged over 18 to go around the motor circuit at their leisure.
Val explained: “Cycle the Circuit is an opportunity for ladies to come and ride around the fabulous Goodwood Motor Circuit at their leisure, in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice, and receive a certificate at the end of their ride.
“We are very excited to have Dame Sarah Storey as our VIP guest. She will be taking part in our elite race and will be hosting a masterclass after the racing. This will be very exciting and a unique opportunity to meet Dame Sarah.”
Visitors can also visit the Cycle Village for exclusive shops and demonstrations, including Pearl Izumi, sponsors of Team Storey, and Cycling Sports Group.
