Wonderland in Coldwaltham

Thursday March 6 was World Book Day and to celebrate the occasion the theme for the day at St James CE Primary School, Coldwaltham was Alice in Wonderland and specifically the Mad Hatters tea party. All pupils and staff dressed as a character from Lewis Carroll’s classic novel.

The morning was spent making jam tarts, biscuits, sandwiches, coloured drinks and the children also made name place cards, party hats and invitations.

After lunch the children watched the tea party scenes from Disney’s Alice in Wonderland film followed by the tea party itself. They danced the Lobster Quadrille; made up silly riddles and did the Caucus race.
