Successful children’s author visits pupils

Exciting times continued at Castlewood School in Southwater this week when the School received a visit from children’s author Jack Trelawny. Jack told the children all about his Kernowland series of fantasy books and shared some of his secrets about being a successful author. The pupils were fascinated by his imaginary animals, the Dogspider was a particular favourite, and have since enjoyed creating their own weird and wonderful hybrid characters!

Jack followed his ‘Edutainment’ talk with a question and answer session, and then the children had the opportunity to meet Jack, buy his books and have them dedicated and signed.

Kirsty Anstee-Brown, teacher, said: “It’s visits like this that inspire children to read, write and hopefully become lifelong readers and writers which is what we want to encourage here at Castlewood.”
