At Heron Way Primary School we are very keen in supporting a number of charities.

A charity that we have supported for some years now is the Chestnut Tree House charity – it is the only children’s hospice in Sussex and cares for 280 children and young adults from 0-25 years of age with progressive life-limiting conditions from all over Sussex and South East Hampshire. One of our parents decided to join the school and raise money for our chosen charity. Claire Mittendorfer has bravely taken on the challenge of running the London Marathon. On Friday 14th March Claire and I took three children from the School Council to visit the centre, so that they could feedback to the rest of the school some first-hand experiences of how the money we send them helps.

The school wishes Claire all the best for agreeing to help the school support this very worthwhile charity. Here is a link to Claire’s Just Giving page for any donations: http://www.justgiving.com/Claire-Mittendorfer
