Making a difference for Macmillan in Horsham

More than a hundred people were treated to fresh coffee and fabulous cakes, while browsing the craft stalls and wandering through the fabulous gardens of Sedgwick Park Manor.

Beth Landskroner pleased the crowd by singing songs from the shows, and the High Sheriff of West Sussex provided a further theatrical element by making an appearance in full 14th century costume.

This was of particular fascination to four American guests who had turned up, having found the event on Horsham’s online pages.

While the organisers Clare Davison, Rosie McMillan, Susan Michaelis and Esther Clark were expecting lots of friends to turn up, they were overwhelmed by the number of people who had read about this event in the West Sussex County Times, and had decided to come.

There was cake a-plenty, but two lovely ladies who’d volunteered to help were working overtime with suds and drying cloths!

Many thanks go to Strada, the Virtual Flight Centre , Pretty Things, The Hornbrook Inn, Eufloria, and LifeinPatches.com amongst others, who donated extremely generous prizes for the raffle, and to the numerous ladies who baked cakes as well as Sainsbury’s who made a cake donation, but most of all to all the guests for coming and making the morning such a success.

There were Macmillan Coffee Mornings all over the country, and all the individual contributions will add up to a massive amount, essential to alleviate the suffering of those suffering with cancer.

A big thank you goes to all those who have helped with this event one way or another.
