The Lord-Lieutenant said: “This was my first visit to the Horsham Cadet Unit, and I can only say how very impressed I was. The Cadets that I was fortunate enough to meet that evening were wonderful examples of how young people can contribute to the Big Society. I was also pleased to hear of their ambitions and their determination to succeed. It was for me a very special evening.”

County President Mrs Quenelda Avery said after witnessing the Cadets demonstrating their First Aid skills and the enrolment of several new young members warmly congratulated everyone involved.

She said she was delighted and very proud of this Unit for all that its members had achieved and she thanked the Cadets, their committed volunteer leaders and their parents for all their support She added that these Cadets were outstanding ambassadors of the nation’s leading first aid charity and were a shining example of how young people, with first aid skills, can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
