LETTER: We must check on councillor voting

Your campaign for free speech is most laudable and I was pleased to see so many councillors have signed up for it.

I was very much in support of David Shipton’s letter ‘Lacking courage to stand up for beliefs’ on 03 April 2014.

It is an ‘individual decision’ you are asking councillors to make not a ‘group decision’.

Like the decision they will be asked to make at the council meeting on April 30 at 6pm – they will each have to decide whether this revised Preferred Strategy can get their ‘yes’ vote in the interests of not only their own electors but residents of the whole district.

We should all be there to check what they do. We will only get this one chance.
