LETTER: Not all pensioners are ‘golden’

I read a letter about how one reader seems to think that a section of pensioners enjoy the fruits of their past through a large pension, and are the ‘golden ones’.

Does your letter writer realise that not all pensioners enjoyed having a firm’s pension in addition to the one now paid each week. Firstly they could not afford to top up at that time in the past, many had low paid jobs, many could not save, many were in bad shape through no fault of their own.

So if he or she is in good shape financially, good luck dear friend. Perhaps you know someone who needs help, good luck to all who need luck, and the same to you who are in receipt of a good pension package.Thank you all.
