LETTER: No free parking for vintage cars

I read with interest about the council employee who received a parking ticket for parking his vintage car in Horsham Hospital car park.

I think the sign should be more clear about the parking rules as it clearly states that tax exempt vehicles are free but if doesn’t include certain sections then it should be made clear.

However I do not see why a vintage car should be free of any parking charge, normally these cars are worth a lot of money and I’m sure that this vintage car is not his only means of transport so it would appear that he can well afford the parking charge and perhaps not paying was somewhat stingy and he should have coughed up like the rest of us.

If he wants people to see his vintage cars there are many vintage car shows around where they can be shown off.
