LETTER: Moaning gives village bad name

I know I’m not the only resident of Warnham who is fed up with the moaning and all the posters of ‘flight trail complain line’ and banners that say ‘Gatwick do you care’.

Yes they have changed the flight path for a six month trial, but as a resident who has lived here for 30 years, planes have always flown over this area.

If these residents lived at the end of the runway then I could understand their problem, but the planes are NOT flying low, neither are they loud, or causing their house to shake! And they don’t always fly over this way.

I live on the A24 where the noise of traffic is constant, and louder! (I have no double glazing) but it doesn’t bother me, or my two children.

I recorded a plane flying over and you can hear the noise of cars and birds more than the plane that lasts seconds.

Do these residents not realise that all the complaining and publicity they are causing is making bad press on this village? I do feel sorry for people trying to sell their houses!

Surely there are more important issues in this area than planes that take all these ‘Nimby’ people on their hot sunny holidays.
