LETTER: Impact on energy costs now clear

Further to recent letters on green energy. It has been reported that around 60 per cent of people approve of wind farms possibly because many did not appreciate their impact on energy costs.

However, the businesses that have been driven abroad by the UK’s high energy costs will be under no illusion about that impact.

What is particularly ironic is the resulting increase in global CO2 emissions from countries such as China and India, where hundreds of coal fired power stations are being built.

It seems that even go-green Dave has now grasped the law of unintended consequences. Unfortunately his previous evangelical approach put UK companies at a disadvantage, whilst causing an increase in global CO2 emissions.

I wonder how many 60 per cent evangelists remain to be convinced?
