Hopes for best winter fair yet as it celebrates 25 years

The Fair, which has become a well known social event in the local area continues to grow year on year, and at 10am on Saturday November 21 the school will open its doors to host this vibrant, festive and fun event.

This year all concerned are hoping that 2015 will see the biggest and best Winter Fair so far!

Over 1,000 people attended last year’s Fair, a now popular community event which also attracts many families from further afield. A fantastic £7,800 was raised for the school.

This year as well as the commercial stalls, school stalls, auction, raffle, food, drink and fun, there is a special programme of entertainment taking place in the Drama Hall to mark the 25th Anniversary.

The school is very pleased to welcome Ariel Drama Academy who will be showcasing their enormously talented young people throughout the morning. In the afternoon an equally talented array of young people from Steyning Grammar School will be performing.

“We are delighted to be helping Steyning Grammar School celebrate their 25th Winter Fair. It is wonderful to be able to give our students a chance to perform at such a relaxed and fun event” said Marisha Jenkins of Ariel.

Catherine Stone, the Chair of Friends of Steyning Grammar School, who organises the Fair said: “We are so excited about this year’s Fair: it has something for everyone. It is a great chance for the School to welcome the local community through the school’s doors and promises to be a fun-filled day for all who attend.

“We are aiming to beat our record result last year by breaking the £8,000 barrier and every penny we raise will be used to buy extra equipment for the school.”

Many local businesses support the Fair and therefore the school every year.
