The show dazzled: the rainbow colours of the dahlias with the varied range of autumnal fruits and vegetables plus the Ellens Green Art Club’s picture exhibition, combined to assault the visitors’ visual senses.

The floral displays were highly imaginative, especially the “Berried Treasure” Class, won by Liz Ockenden with her combination of autumn berries cascading from a vase into a treasure chest.

The Home fare section was worthy of a Great Rudgwick Bake Off, the Dorset Applecake class in particular drawing a large entry.

Mike Clarke, EG&RGA Chairman commented: “It was a great Show and we were pleased it was so well supported. We now have to put every effort into next year’s three shows as it will be the Society’s 70th year.”
