Creative open evening at Glebelands School

Freshly baked food, bubbling volcanoes, dissections, creative showcases and sports were on show at Glebelands School as around 360 guests from primary schools near and far sampled Glebelands teaching and activities at their Open Evening.

Mrs Hutchinson, Headteacher, gave a speech in the main hall setting out her vision for the future of Glebelands based around the code of respect and achieve. She described it as a happy school where individuals are valued and learning is the top priority.

Head Boy William and Head Girl Jemima spoke of how Glebelands had helped them throughout the past four years and our prefect body proved exemplary tour guides for our prospective students and their parents. Students led tours throughout the evening, taking in all of the departments at Glebelands where active learning was being demonstrated. Experiments in the Science labs, netball and football in the multi-sports court and visitors were invited to sample freshly-baked food in the Technology department.

After celebrating some record GCSE results, now is a good time to be a student at Glebelands and from this showing, the class of 2020 are ready and waiting to join in.
